A high pressure ridge will continue to build back into Mammoth on Wednesday for slightly warmer weather followed by colder and windy weather on Thursday and Friday as a dry cold front will pass through NorCal which means it might take a bit longer for the snow to soften up.
The ridge rebuilds over the weekend for fair and warmer weather with lighter winds too. Cooler and windier weather will return around Tuesday next week as another front will pass well north of Mammoth.
The longer range for the end of next week and into Memorial Day weekend shows an active jet just north and east of the Sierra pushing storm systems into the interior of the Pacific Northwest and N. Rockies which means generally windier weather for Mammoth with temperatures not quite as warm as of late.
There is even a slight chance that one of the lows could move farther westward resulting in light snowfall over the closing day weekend. At this point, it is only a slight chance as there is still lots of uncertainty in the long range forecast.
Forecast Summary
Fair and slightly warmer on Wednesday followed by colder and windy weather on Thursday and Friday. Fair and warmer over the weekend and into early next week with another cool trending beginning around Tuesday next week which will may continue into Memorial Day weekend when there is also a slight chance for light snowfall.
